The OFL Occupational Disability Response Team is presenting a 6 day advanced course on workplace insurance appeals and dispute resolution during the week of April 10- 16, 2010. This is the third level of the OFL-ODRT multi-level certificate program. The ODRT level I and II are prerequisite training for this course. The workshop will take place at the BayView Wildwood Conference Centre near Orillia Ontario. It is a full residential program with a registration fee of $1445 and includes all course material, accommodation (double occupancy), meals, guided instruction, certificate of completion and refreshment breaks.

This course is essential training for those looking to improve their advocacy and hearing preparation skills. It includes an in depth examination of Ontario's worker's compensation system, practice in conducting mock hearings at the ARO and WSIAT level and special considerations for tribunals, adjournments and non-appeal hearings. It also provides training on dispute resolution strategies and mediation. Seats are limited so book early to secure a spot.

The OFL-ODRT is offering advanced worker's compensation workshops as part of its spring training seminars to be held March 7- 12, 2010 in Toronto.

These workshops help injured workers and their advocates to better understand the rights, obligations and benefits defined in Ontario's worker's compensation system. They also provide experienced advocates with a better understanding of medical terminology used in reports and journals and scientific principles and protocols used to support occupational disease claims.

Worker representatives will also learn the elements of an effective return to work program and legal provisions that can be used to establish a program in their workplace. They will learn how to engage a multi-disciplinary team of specialists to assist in developing a therapeutic return to work plan for workers dealing with medical restrictions.
