ODRT is offering a combination of topical workshops for the experienced representatives. Participants will be able to heighten their proficiency in various workplace insurance law matters. This course will cover interesting and advanced topics including: dealing with electronic evidence at appeals, appealing Mental Stress, Chronic Pain and CPP Disability claims, understanding how to craft the perfect written submission at the ARO or WSIAT level and the most current research and caselaw regarding accommodation of workers with disabilities. Hours can be credited towards the LSUC Professional Development requirements.
Office of the Worker Advisor
The Office of the Worker Adviser (OWA) is an independent agency of the Ontario Ministry of Labour. The OWA provides free services to non-unionized injured workers and their survivors in workplace insurance matters.
Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board
The WSIB promotes workplace health and safety, and provides a workers compensation system for Ontario workers and employers. It's web site provides useful forms, prevention information and useful links.
Ontario Network of Injured Workers Groups, ONIWG
The ONIWG is a network of 21 community-based injured worker groups providing peer support, compensation informaiton and campaign resources to reform the worker's compensation system.
