Worker's Compensation Essentials, Level I & II, June 21-25, North Bay (5 days)
This five day session provides essential training for workers and workplace representatives on Worker's Compensation Rights and Obligations, Benefits and Representation, New Return-to-Work Strategies and the Duty to Accommodate.  The cost is $795/person. Fall Training (Advanced Workshops) October 24-29, North Bay

The ODRT Workplace Insurance Fall Training Session includes week-long workshops covering topics on Appeals & Dispute Resolution, Occupational Disease, Compensation Essentials (Level I, II and duty to accommodate) and Return to Work Program.  All workshops include updates on legal developments, WSIB Operational Policies and several new video presentations.  This is a great opportunity to network with other advocates, trainers and specialists in WSIB processes and services. Nominate an Advocate. The OFL-ODRT staff are again working with regional labour councils to identify injured worker and disability rights advocates who have demonstrated distinguished service. The awards are presented at appreciation events organized by Labour Councils. Last year, the OFL-ODRT presented 18 awards to injured worker advocates from communities across Ontario. Fair Practices Commission
The Fair Practices Commission is an ombudsman for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. The Commission provides an independent and confidential service for injured workers, employers and service providers who have complaints about WSIB services. It identifies systemic issues and recommends improvements to the WSIB. . Comment

Ontario Human Rights Commission
The Ontario Human Rights Code is for everyone. It is a provincial law that gives everybody equal rights and opportunities without discrimination in specific areas such as jobs, housing and services. The Code's goal is to prevent discrimination and harassment.Comment
